Yes, PowerNotify works with battery backups and UPS systems, but how you connect your equipment affects when alerts are triggered.
Instant power cut alerts
If you want to be alerted immediately when mains power is lost:
- Ensure the PowerNotify device is not connected to the UPS.
This causes the device to go offline as soon as mains power fails.
Alerts when the UPS runs out
If you want alerts only when backup power is exhausted:
- Connect both the router and the PowerNotify device to the UPS.
In this setup, the alert is triggered when the UPS battery is depleted and everything powers down.
Important: Choose the setup that matches what you want to be alerted about — loss of mains power, or loss of backup power.
